Can't help with that Nat, but they do look buried in their environment.

Bottom ones quite easy as it's juv blue tit. As to the other looks like a warbler, one group I always have trouble with ident but suspect reed warbler.

Thanks Tom and Ant for taking the trouble to ID the birds. I find that even with the help of my bird books, I am unable to identify them. To make it difficult these little fellows do not come out into the open.

Ant is right Nat, fledgling blue tit and a reed warbler

Thank you Steve. You do know your birds like Ant! As you mentioned in a PM, I am now trying to trace and follow the bird songs before I spot them!!!

Knowing their songs is a massive help with photography Nat as you often hear them before seeing them and then depending on the species you know where to start looking eg high in the trees , down in the reeds etc and then of course once you have identified the song you can anticipate their movement / flight pattern etc. I have been a birdwatcher for many more years than I have been taking pictures of them and still really enjoy it.

What Steve says is right. For instance I recently tracked down a whitethroat as I recognised it's call and was able to locate it. Once you get to know the birds a bit better you can recognise their habits, way they move, how they feed etc.

Quite true Steve and Ant. I am slowly getting to recognise the bird songs but have difficulty in spotting them. I am sure it will get better for me.
