    Red Kite

Had a day in Mid Wales this week visiting RSPB Ynis Hir and the Dyfi Osprey Project . Not many birds about but got a few nice Red Kite shots at Nant Y Arian.

Thanks Nat , I've done Gigrin before and dont like the settiing compared to others I have visited , there are much more picturesque places to get Red Kite shots imo.

          Well caught.

I went to Gigren earlier in the week, have yet to load the photos to the PC. Did you handhold and what sort of % were keepers?

Other than the Welsh sites, where else do you recommend?

          Regards

All the shots I took were handheld as most of my photos are. Quite a high percentage of keepers but I do not process loads of images for the sake of it so deleted many potentially good shots. As stated in my reply to Nat above I am not a big fan of Gigrin and much prefer the setting at Nany Y Arian as you can capture a variety of shots as the birds come in over the lake. Not sure of any other good spots where you are guaranteed good numbers of birds at such close quarters but there are many counties across the UK which have healthy Red Kite populations.
