Just back from trip to South Devon. Lots of walking, eating and drinking.

Places I had visited in the past for bird photography were vey quiet. Last time stonechats were everywhere this time not a one.

Did manage decent image of whitethroat though

looks a bit dark Ant, all seems to be in shadow - had a quick look using camera raw and looks much better just by lifting the shadows

Well caught. Saw several whilst in Suffolk but never managed a decent shot.

Oops thought I'd lifted shadow but just checked and I didn't.

Must be time of year but seemed very quiet. Location where I saw cirl bunting, goldcrest, stonechat, etc. All we saw was wren, dunnock, goldfinch and handful of whitethroat.

Finally got round to adjusting the image after prompt from Stan re the shadows, lifted exposure a bit too.

Very nice, yes looks much better, there seems to be more around this year down here than in previous years

There does seem to be more, this was at Berry Head, Brixham in Devon. Locally to where I live there are far more than previous years though numbers of blackcap are down.
