    Great Spotted Woodpeckers

    Not the best picture, but taken last evening in failing light out of the bedroom window through the glass. Though it reasonable considering the situation. Plus its a test shot to try and sort out my Fickr problem, mentioned in another thread -- General Photo Discussions

    they are a bit dark but you could sort that in post production, good to get a male and female together

      Thanks Stan, Yes I sort of put them up because of the problem I'm having with Flickr - test shots.
      Its an adult female and a juvenile --Adults males have the red nap on the back of the head, no red nap on female, juveniles have a red crown.
      They nested in the garden, but in an impossible place to photograph.

        That's good, I have one visiting the garden but he (a male) always flies straight in lands on the feeder gets a beak full of food and then off.

        Would love to have opportunity to photograph them.

              Thanks everyone for your kind comments, Seems this is my last picture posting cant now up-load anything to Flickr & don't seem to be able to get any help from them where ever they are.
