    Kingfisher Breakfast

    Although the water was quite still at present it is not very clear so mostly the kingfishers were just perching rather than diving but this one must have found a good spot on the other side of the lake as he flew in with fish already in his beak

        You're not the only one Nat! Whilst I do regularly see KFs around locally, I don't know of anywhere close by where they're likely to be doing anything other than flying very fast along the river!

                  You're not the only one Nat! Whilst I do regularly see KFs around locally, I don't know of anywhere close by where they're likely to be doing anything other than flying very fast along the river!
                  there are a few places, even on the local river just up the road but always either a fly past or much too far distant for any shot.

                  At Blashford you can more or less guarantee shots at close quarters between mid August and mid September and been the same for the past 4 years. Been 3 times in the last few days and on each occasion the first shots have come within 5 to 10 minutes of arriving in the hide
