    Another great shot Stan.
    I like the detail and particularly the wing tip "movement"

          Very nice.

          There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!

            Hi Stan;

            I like these little guys; they're so 'sociable'!

            Was he leaving, arriving or just exercising?

            Cheers...

              Lovely shot Stan. Excellent feather detail and wing blur.

                  Hi Guys
                  Thanks for looking

                  the answer is he was just stretching
                  I was lucky to get a few shots at all as the camera had got knocked onto manual mode with settings used a few days before. Luckily they were just the right settings for an almost perfect exposure

                    Been there; done that, as I guess we all have ...

                    That's one of the 60D selling-points; a 'locking' dial, so you can't knock it out - in theory...

                      I've done it a few times and usually results in a way overexposed shot or just a more or less black screen

                        The greatest 'panic' I ever had as a result of that was a trip to The Eden Project... it was a particularly cold day; and we had a longish walk from the car-park. Foolishly we ventured into the hot-house first - big bad move... Despite being very careful, (obviously not careful enough!) humidity took over and drenched my kit! It took about 2 hours to dry out, and when it did, none of my settings would hold. Panic ... Immediate thoughts of electrical-circuitry failure... until it finally dawned on me that the dial had slipped obviously while I'd been trying to dry the kit off... panic over :phew: !

                        That taught me a few lessons
