Super image Stan, Only seen a Long Billed Curlew up close in Florida although I wouldn't say it was any longer than this one (probably a US thing)

Never saw one during either visit to florida but looking at pictures they are very similar but looks like the beak is a bit longer

Have you cropped this much Stan ? Cracking image , have always found Curlews to be very shy .

they are quite common on the marsh and this one was quite near - the shot is about 80% of the original. I did have to venture off the path though to get the sun behind me...and got caught by a jobsworth
