Kestrel 2018 Family Update 5

Visit this morning and female was busy feeding the chicks but with her back towards me. Once the food was gone she did move to one side.

Chicks mow quite large, about 14 days old.

A couple of minutes later the male turned up with even more food

And he was allowed to bring it to the nest

The female seemed to decide the chicks had had enough and flew off with the prey to eat herself

Male also left and it was now possible to see that there are indeed 5 chicks

Lovely set. My favourite is number 4 with the female flying off.
