    Long Eared Owl

Absolutely thrilled to get a few shots of this stunning LEO hunting in daylight hours as they are normally strictly night time hunters and difficult to see in flight during the day.

                Re: Long Eared Owl

Nice captures. As you say, not a bird you usually see flying in daylight hours.
Some years back, I heard a muffled bump on the patio doors about 11-00 one morning. It wasn’t until about 10mins later I looked outside and found a long eared owl unable to fly, on the paving slabs. I put it in a box and took it to an owl rescue centre and was later told it had blood poisoning. Never had too much faith in the guy who told me though.
