    Great spotted woodpecker

    Nice shot Gary, but I feel the tree trunk is a bit dominant - crop part of it out ????

      Agree with Trev

      I think this one would be more suited to a tighter portrait crop which would also exclude some of the bright highlights in the background

        Lovely capture Gary but agree with the guys above ref the trunk dominating the scene

          Thanks guys for comments.
          With this image I tried many different crops and I believe this is one I liked the best.
          This image was shot at ISO2,500 and with any smaller crop it entailed loss of IQ, so I compromised and kept the tree in.

            Agree with other comments, but also appreciate your reasoning. Photography is often a compromise.
