I haven't seen a Jay to take a shot of for some years

first time in a couple of years and there were three of them on the ground but a little but further away

pity you could not have got a side on view.

a few side on shots on the ground which I have yet to look at but the backgrounds are not so clear as they were feeding in among bits of broken off twigs and leaves

Jays are really quite common near me. A walk along the river and might see a dozen or more. I've never managed a decent shot yet though as they're really, really shy.
