    Tawny Owl

Another of the Tawny Owl, this time on one of it's day time perches in the wood. I only wish it would use these by night instead of sitting outside our bedroom window shouting its head off at 2.30 in the morning.

That’s a great pic Trev, it would be lovely to have your problem with the nightly calling, no chance of me seeing one in a town!

Well located Trev, with good feather detail. We Have one in our garden at night, don’t here it once in bed as deaf as can be with out hearing aid. Some advantages of being old.

Ian, It is the one British Owl that you are most likely to see in towns and built up areas. I know for a fact that they can be heard calling at night in a certain big garden in London!

Thanks Trev for that optimistic thought, I’ve lived here for a very long time and not seen or heard one yet but you never know, after all, the sparrowhawk made an appearance and I wasn’t expecting that!

Nice image. Probably our most common native owl.
