Bird watchers usually keep a life list of birds they have seen. After a while adding to the list becomes harder unless you go abroad, dash around the country for rarities or just happen to be where there is something you've not seen.
Last one happened to me during a visit to the RSPB reserve, Old Moor, on Monday. Only about an hour from home. Had a great day with 54 species seen but missing a lot of common birds so 60 would have been easy.
A rather unremarkable bird in terms if plumage but a fairly distinctive call.
