    Owl display at the HCT

We visited the Hawk Conservancy Trust for the first time in ages and even managed to stay for the owl display. My Olympus gear wasn’t up to the job - way too long as I was using a 100-400. I should have remembered this as my best shots there were with a 70-200 f4. So I switched to my brand new R6 and kit lens and got these…

The ISO is a bit high as the long end is f7.1 (note to self, I should have nicked my wife’s L version as she wasn’t using it) but even then the AFworked very well…
EOS 7D mk II, Sigma 150-660C, Canon 17-85 EF-S, Tamron 10-24 and a wife who shares my obsession.

You lot must stop showing me such quality shots with the R6, I am jealous and need to start saving. Fantastic clarity.

Well caught, not easy to obtain focus or to get the exposure right when flying at you out of a dark background, well done indeed

Two good images considering the back lighting and environment the owl is flying through, well done Andy
