    Cheers Dan

With so many of them flying for over two hours there was lots of opportunity to capture different poses

        Nice shot (again) Stan.

As you know, I'm going in a couple of weeks time (with Hereford_EOS2), but I don't know whether I'll get anywhere near the standard you've set!
I'm taking the view that's it's a holiday first and I'm going to relax and enjoy myself, but, if I get close to your standard I'll be very happy!

All the best, and keep posting the shots as they do inspire me to try hard! Mike.

Even without photos the sight of so many kites is awesome anyway but provided the weather is good to get the high shutter speed and low ISO you should be OK. They do come very close so your 300mm should be enough - i lost a lot of shots with clipped wings with my 300 and converter. Make sure you pay the extra for the gateway or tower hides - the ordinary hide openings are just not wide enough. Set your camera to AI servo and manual mode and meter off the grass in front and aim for a shutter speed of over 1/1000

          good luck
