    Parakeet

Many of you will know these foreign birds have colonised areas of London and the South East and as we were leaving Barnes WWT on Sunday evening a flock of them flew over the car park and settled in the trees at the side, so out came the camera again to try and capture a few shots. It was quite difficult what with the light fading fast and the birds settling in amongst the foliage - this shot, not much more than a record, ended up at 1/100 and ISO 1600 !!

Stan, not a bad shot, in tricky conditions.

These visit my back garden quite regularly and try and get to the fat blocks and bird seed, but their bills seem to get in the way! Quite a striking bird, but their squawking call is quite annoying, especially at 5am!

                Thanks for posting, Mike.

An opportunity to practice to see if you can get some sharper shots by using a tripod or a burst
