    Open up & say AAHHHH!

I apologise, its another cat pic, but I think this great fun. It's not technically very good I know, something went squiffy with his nose but I thought you might enjoy it.

    That is some tongue

looks like you got the focus on his tongue but its strange you got the ears in focus as they look to be behind the nose plane and would expect those to be oof as well

I think it was because I was using a very shallow DOF, I used my 30mm prime at f1.6. I can only guess that maybe his nose was the closest thing to the lens, would that do it?

I would have thought that the nose and tongue would be roughly on the same plane but like Stan, I would have expected the ears to be OOF

I like the fact that you can see the hooks on the tongue, classic cat image. (I reckon the reason for the oof nose is that the cat has a long nose - Simples! )

The fur above the paws is sharp, it's ears are sharp especially the left but the right is acceptable.

Motion blur is a key factor for me, had it stayed sitll the tip on the nose may have been acceptably sharp, but probably not critically sharp.

At a certain stage of the yawn the tougue would be ridgid while the muzzle is still opening to it's widest.

All this happened in 1/100 of a sec.

                That's my theory anyway :-)
