    Not everyones taste.

It's the seed heads left on the crocosmia over the top of the pond where the water runs back in creating ripples and bubbles that hold light.

    Taken with the 55-250

    I just like it.

Di, I am not surprised you like it......This is really good, the light on the buds is excellent, at first I thought you had used flash, but you hadn't, it is nice and sharp for 1/50, did you use a tripod? and the black background with the light "blobs" is super.

What time of day was it taken?

    Regards Paul

          Re: Not everyones taste.

          Thanks all.

Forgot to add: Hand held. I have a hand strap on the camera now which seems to help keeping things steady. I was sat on a wooden stool, elbows on my knees, forming my own tripod. (I have a tripod and always forget that I could use it. ) Taken 1:50 in the afternoon, used AV didn't get what I wanted. Swapped to TV mode, started with a quick speed and then worked backwards till I got something I could see, and it froze the surface bubbles enough to catch the light. Hope that makes sense.

I really like this great clarity and the background adds to the overall image without detracting from the foreground well done for persevering to obtain the image you were after

The crocosmia is well lit against the dark background and goes well with the blue highlights, although I would tend to tone them down a tad by running the burn too over them a few times using a medium sized brush at settings of range - highlights and exposure 6% (assuming you use PS or PSE)

                  Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Stan - I have Gnu - it does have a dodge and burn option, I'll have a look and see if I can work out how to do that.
