Raft Spider

This is one of the largest UK spiders with a body length of around 2 cm and leg span of 7cm !!!
Usually you find them hunting over the surface to the water so i was quite surprised to see this one on the vegetation at the waters edge - but not for long as he dropped back into the water presumably having spotted lunch

Brilliant image Stan, looking at the exif I do not seem to be able to get anything like that I wish I lived closer and would ask if you did workshops
