Don't usually change it from "full". Both these were shot at a distance of around a foot

I think the only chance I would get would be first thing in the morning as during the daytime its too warm and they never rest

I was just looking at what we got in Menorca last year - lizards, dragonflies, grasshoppers and butterflies no problem but as well as no shots of flies I don't recall any missed opportunities to shoot them either

cheers - maybe I'm just not putting enough effort in - I'm hoping to get out at the weekend for some dragonflies

The greenbottle was f8 and the cluster f7.1 - must have knocked the dial for that one
