Are they ghosts as Winston Churchill died in 1965 and Montgomery died in 1976 ?
Well spotted and taken, and I like the V sign and the salute.

The word photography derives from the Greek φωτός (phōtos), genitive of φῶς (phōs), "light" and γραφή (graphé)

Thanks everyone. They had gathered quite a crowd as you can imagine, so it was a case of grabbing what you could. The event was A Village at War, a 1940's weekend at Stoke Bruene in Northamptonshire. Hopefully I'll have a few more to post. Lots of re-enactors and peopel in period dress.

              Thanks

nice capture, a B&W conversion would be interesting.

                    Nice shot Mark,

Just a shame about the Lady walking behind them.

Winnie certainly gets around, he was at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire in July for the 40's Weekend, in fact he was my entry for the People Competition in the July Forum Photo Challenge.

These re-enactment characters are good fun and you can get some really great shots, as these are.

This weekend (6&7 Oct) is a 1940's weekend at Hughenden Manor. It will be mainly Air Force as the weekend celebrates the time when the Air Force took over Hughenden Manor during WWII for "secret squirrel" stuff to do with photographs over Germany and planning bombing runs for Bomber Command which was just up the road from the Manor at Walters Ash.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. So, after getting out the Photoshop box of tricks, we have B/W conversion with the woman in background removed along with a couple of other bits that I didn't like.
