    Formal Night

    This picture was taken out on the balcony of our cabin. The Flash was on a lightweight Tri-pod that was set on a small table, then bounced of the ceiling @ 1/8 power. The camera was then on a Tri-pod that was placed in the door opening, then timer set.

    Camera 5DMKII w/EF40mm f/2.8 STM
    1/200 sec @ f/3.5, ISO 160

    Tom, that is one heck of a shot.
    The fact that you set the whole thing up then used a timer is amazing, it looks as though it was taken by someone holding the camera the positioning of you and your wife with the curvature of the side opening of the balcony is perfect.
    Love the composition and the amount of light from the flash coupled with the natural light.

            As other have said the lighting is great, and that curve behind you really adds to the shot.

                Now that is nice, & excellent use of fill flash, the light is balanced perfectly.

                  Wow - you certainly went prepared with the volume of kit you were carrying, and well worth the effort too; a superb reminder of your cruise - I venture to suggest that it's more than likely a much better result than the on-board photogs would have achieved to boot...
