    Scampton Warbirds

    Hi All,

Nothing for months and all these shows and fly-ins come around at once.

#1 is a cracker but they are all great. I have to keep reminding myself that they are only models

#1 is the stand out shot by a mile - had to check several times that it was / is a model, all that is really missing is a bit of heat haze from the exhaust to make it a perfect 10

Neil was obvoiusly down on the deck to get that point of view and that attention to detail has paid off well. And there was me thinking that wet knees and elbows were the exclusive preserve of the wildlife photographer.

              Re: Scampton Warbirds

Thanks, guys for the comments. I think the Spitfire picture & the F-15 are my two favourites at the moment. Both models are very accurate in their detail which makes them look so realistic. The only sad part with the Spitfire - the cockpit hasn't been finished, so there's no-one in the 'office'. I'm sure a pilot will soon be in there.

Colin, no wet knee, mate. I was using the 100-400mil lens (info says focal length was 320mm @f8). When I cropped the picture, slightly, I also 'turned' it a bit so the model looks as though it was going away more, rather than going passed, if that makes sense. I've done this quite a few times, but this one has worked out the best, I think. A bit of rain gives pictures a different perspective, something slightly different from the norm. Just as long as the rain goes away quickly and the sun comes out!!!

              TTFN,
              Neil
