Banana Jet Day at Bruntingthorpe

Went along to the 20th retirement anniversary of the Buccaneer day at Bruntingthorpe last Saturday.

A very enjoyable day was spent although in creamy light conditions which proved a bit tricky.

Tim great set of images, still undecided about fast runs as always disappointed when they don't actually leave perhaps that's just me though

Hi Alan,

No it's not just you!

Not long after shot No.2 was taken the Royal Navy Bucc broke down and was subsequently towed away, think you can see a whiff of smoke under the main under carriage!

I have one question for you - How do you find out what's on at Bruntingthorpe? I look at their website and there's no mention of these events. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place I live less that 30 minutes away from the bloomin' place and when the winds in the right direction can hear the jet engines - but by then it's to late!

To answer your question Neilly, as I frequent other aviation forums you tend to pick up the info there and also subscribing to various twitter accounts!

One particular website that's pretty much upto date is Flightline: www.airshows.org.uk

They seem to have the UK airshow/events scene covered!

I tend to use the fightercontrol forums for a lot of the info on events etc as they cover all military and a lot of civil airfields www.fightercontrol.co.uk
