    sorry I'm not into aviation and not understanding this shot - confused

      The little button on the top of the trigger protrudes when the guns are live. when flush as it is, the guns are safe as the label indicates on the top of the switch...... that one switch is the sole reason for the rest of the aircraft to exist....to kill.

      Cough cough.... as it is in a Spitfire Photo Rec MK19 it is used to operate the radios, but hey ho, they don't tend to like you straffing the public these days... well not in the UK at least ;)
