    Rail Grinding

I live next to the railway and take a lot of photographs of the summer steam excursions that pass. I rarely bother with 'modern image' as diesels lack the drama of steam but I did make an exception last night when a rail grinding train paraded up and down outside my house. OK, it's soft and grainy (that's a 7D on ISO 6400 for you) but I was hand-holding while leaning out of the bedroom window at 01:30 this morning!

Monochrome seems to suit it too.

    Cheers,
    John
