    Me in a Mustang.

For 'corperatemas' Cory got me a driving experience with the Classic American Muscle guys, how can I put this?

    AWESOME!!!!!

    .
Cory managed to get a deal for the two car experience but once in the car I opted to do twice the laps in the same one - a 1965 Mustang Coupe called 'Tonto' - the track was damp and slippery but I genuinely had the best day. Only spoiler was the 'official' photographs (Cory got a disc of me on track as an extra surprise) we looked at them when we got home and to be honest - it will be going in the bin, not one photo is in focus and they are all over exposed and noisy as hell. LUCKILY Cory took her camera so I got a few to remember the day:

    ME:

Do I look chuffed or what - still got the same grin now (at least the shaking has stopped)

Had one red flag lap because someone else had decided to kill a Mustang at Graham Hill bend - nearly cried as we drove past it.

If it is something you have thought about then I would highly recommend these guys, no it's not 'cheap' but be honest - your not going to do it every week.

    .DAVID.

Looks fun and I bet the beast was a bit of a handful in the damp. Tyres look narrow by todays standards.

Sad to see crumpled one though.

I did track day at Brands some time ago, Audi TT and FF Single Seater, one of best things I've ever done.

The last one is a very sad picture, what a shame.

Looks good fun, pleased when I read you were not responsible for the last shot! From the sounds of the official CD there must be an opening in there for you.....

                    Re: Me in a Mustang.

Well the chance of a job is out of the question after my latest email. Couple of quotes from them:

"I have had a look through and done some 100% zoom in's and I can see motion blur in the background and on the wheels but none on your face? Could you let us know what the issue was, as in did you mean they were out of focus?"

"Having reviewed your images and ours the reason they are slightly lighter is because we shoot with polarizers so you can see yourself driving. The main focus with what we do is to make sure the driver is visible and sharp with behind the windscreen, which all your images they are. The background might be slightly soft which is done intentionally using a larger aperture (again to focus solely on the driver)."

I am a little confused by the last statement as all the polarizers I have ever tried darken the image and help reduce blown highlights - don't they?

One of the shots I refer to so you have an idea. Canon 50D, 1/250, f/3.2, iso 1600 at 104mm

Crop - yeah really sharp and noise free :-0

Please tell me I'm not being over 'dramatic' in being unhappy with this (remember Cory paid £20 for 14 files from the same position and the same quality)

                    .DAVID.

                      Re: Me in a Mustang.

And these were the best of the best? The ones they proudly give to the customer after they have paid for the service?

To me the wide shot looks overexposed, blurred all over it and not really in the best part of the frame. Better to have shot you earlier to have a nice clean background.

And the zoom. Well we can't see your mouth as its blocked by a dial of some kind.

To be honest if I wasn't an almost competent tog I'd be OK with these. With your skills Dave you have must be gutted.

What a great looking day. Such a shame about the pics. They look to be challenging conditions, but, it was their job to capture the images after all. Cory managed some great shots though.

                          Nice one,

Your not kidding - I have even found a 64/65 Mustang for sale, only trouble is I have no garage so it would be left on the street and at the moment I spend around £34 per week on fuel but the Mustang would be £100 per week. ;-(
