I put the 7D plus 300 f/4 L (except 4. which I used the 17-40L) to use for these:

(The deep channel is very close to land at Cowes)

(SV Tenacious at Portsmouth - a splendid three mast wooden barque)

(Nice 36 footer ... the gent raised his hat as we went by)

You are right ... I really needed that 70-200 f2.8 ;-) I was using walls as supports so couldn't use the ColinC zoom method.
