    back focus button on a 1d mk2

Having read several posts on different website recently there appears to be an opinion about using a back focus button to help with focusing prior to taking the shot, now please excuse the ignorance but is this an alternative to holding down the shutter button halfway and where is it? Sorry for stupid questionbut sometimes using my 1d mk2 is too techy for my brain , Harvey

Back button focus is setup through your menu. For the Canon 5d it is the custom function 4 that reprograms the AF-On button

      Hi Harvey,
Looking at pics of the 1Dmk2 it seems that it does not have a dedicated back AF button.
It should still be possible to enable this feature, you'd end up using the * "exposure lock" button as the back AF button.

To help you decide if it will give you any advantage or not, here is a link to a Canon website explaining this back AF feature.

      Hope this helps.
