Sigma 150-600 and silly shutter speeds

I took this yesterday at Arundel WWT in one of the feeder areas. Nothing special as a shot and I've done very little to clean up the noise, but this was shot wide open and at 1/160th. Not too shabby...

Rather impressive considering. Looks like the lens resolves detail really well, is it the S or C version of the lens?

This is the C version. I was more impressed with the OS which seems to be stable even that far down the shutter speeds.

The IS works a treat on these lenses, I am often shooting at that sort of shutter speed @ 600mm without too many problems - the kingfisher posted today was at 1/160

Hmm, think I'll have to take up wildlife photography so I can tell myself I need one...

Doesn't it just. I've not gone that low before but it's pretty impressive.

Pretty impressive. Just makes one wonder how much better is the Sport version.

Well speaking as an owner, I've not seen any deficiencies in the contemporary compared to the sport. Sport owners on the other hand suggest it is better but I do wonder how much of that is "I paid twice as much for mine so it must be better" than any actual difference...
