    Canon EF 24-105mm Purchased

Hey guys just wanted to share my latest purchase with you just because i'm excited!!

I bought it prior to replacing my 500D body to the 7D.

I have only used the lens a few times since having it but I am impressed so far. Well worth the investment.

I have been thinking of getting one to replace my 17-85mm, but was not sure if I would see a real difference, but your comment has started my cravings off again!! (My new Sigma 150mm arrived yesterday & my new Canon 70-200mm arrived today! so I might need to wait a while, or the Mrs. will have a fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

          @ DanHough Enjoy your lens!
          Regards Eddie.

I was lucky in an much as Mrs didn't spot the difference between a black lens with a gold band and the black lens with a red band

I replaced a 17-85mm if that helps....... Much better in my opinion (Although only had limited use so far!)

              Can't beat a red ring......

Also I Invested in a Hoya UV filter and Hoya Pro 1D Polarising filter to finish this baby off beautifully!

A very worthwhile lens which is highly rated.

I'm feeling rather left out, as I don't have one!

                      Hi Dan

You're making too many of us jealous with your purchase.
I'm with Eddie on this, it is now on my virtual shopping list.
Now must need to persuade the other half on this...............

                      Enjoy

I see such good results from this lens..is it worth buying for my 500d crop? FF Camera is a way off for me, financially.

It makes a vey good short telephoto on the crop cameras - I often have it on my 50d

I only have a 50D (crop sensor similar to your 500d) and this is the standard lens that is fixed to the front. If I want wider I either step back or if not possible turn the camera into portrait mode and take a seried of images which can then be stiched together. I think it is a great lens and am glad I bought it

Thanks folks. Very tempted, though a little confused over the 1.6x crop business..

I have the 15 -85 EFS: would these two pair up well, or am I duplicating?
