    LR v ACR/Bridge

A neat series of videos from Scott Kelby and Matt on why LR is better than ACR and Bridge: http://kelbyone.com/100ways/. They have set out 100 reasons in short clips of between 50 seconds and 2 minutes. Now it is true that they are looking at this back in 2011, but in my view LR has only got better. I don't know if ACR and Bridge have got that much better as well!

The main benefit of working through these over a series of days has been that it has given me some insights into things I can do with LR that I didn't even know existed!

Enjoy - you probably have to be a bit sad to get through all 100 like me...

    Best

Cheers, I'll check those out as I've got LR but not dabbled too much with it.

I have used LR since it was released, and although I've gone between that and DPP and ACR in the past, LR has been the strong leader. Presets being the biggest reason for using it. If I get an edit I like, I can just export it as a preset for later. Not just that, there's a million other presets that people have made incase you're stuck in a rut with processing. You can give old images a new look and feel just by using a preset.

You can get photoshop actions too but I prefer LR.

LR is really amazing when you have a bigger screen estate to work on too I think. ACR seems to be confined to this small window on the screen within photoshop.

        Re: LR v ACR/Bridge

I started using LR when I got back into photography and for the first year never put any meta data in WHAT a mistake that was !!! It took me a good few weeks of looking back over images and putting data in, along with rating the photos - mind you its funny when you look at ratings how photos that were a 4 star the follow year get demoted to a 3 star ;o)

With PS I have menus on second monitor so have whole of first with image. Not found anyway of doing this with LR if it is indeed possible.

Antoeknee - I do not specifically know - all I do know (having been sad enough to watch all 100 vids) is that you CAN use two screens for LR, I just don't know how that would work out for what you want!

PS: I am not advocating one way or another - only sharing an interesting set of vids. While I personally love LR, I am not going to say one is better than another because I don't have enough expertise to make the claims!

Hi Richard, LR does allow use of 2 screens but not with floating menus.
